In Kingdom 4: Return of the Great General, the fierce war between the states of Qin and Zhao continues to escalate on the plains of Mayang. Following their initial clash, the Qin forces find themselves facing an unexpected and terrifying threat. A massive secret army orchestrated by the brilliant Zhao strategist Riboku has been moving quietly behind the scenes. As the battle lines shift, the Qin soldiers realize they are not just fighting a standard territorial conflict, but surviving a carefully laid trap meant to destroy their most legendary commander, General Ouki.
At the center of this chaos is Shin and his newly formed Hi Shin Unit. Fresh off their early victories, the young warriors are abruptly ambushed in the dead of night by Houken, a monstrous warrior who calls himself the God of War. Houken unleashes unimaginable destruction upon the camp, effortlessly overpowering Kyoukai and leaving Shin severely wounded. To save their captain, loyal friends Bihei and Bito make devastating sacrifices. This brutal encounter forces Shin to confront the harsh and unforgiving reality of warfare, testing his resolve to become the greatest general in the world.
As the battle reaches its climax, General Ouki finally enters the fray directly, recognizing that the entire Zhao campaign was a sophisticated snare designed specifically for him. Ouki charges through the enemy lines with his signature overwhelming presence, seeking a final duel with Houken to settle an old and deeply personal vendetta. The clash between the two titans shakes the very foundations of the battlefield. Despite fighting with incredible strength and strategy, Ouki is mortally wounded when an unexpected second wave of Zhao forces, directed by Riboku, strikes at a critical moment.
In his final moments, the dying General Ouki imparts crucial wisdom to Shin and his remaining officers. He explains that the path of a general is paved with sacrifice and commands Shin to observe the entire battlefield to truly understand the weight of leadership. Leaving behind his iconic weapon and a powerful legacy, Ouki secures a safe retreat for his men before passing away. Although Qin suffers a monumental loss, Shin emerges from the tragedy with renewed purpose, carrying the heavy mantle of his fallen mentor as he steps forward into a new era of history.
